What to Pray For...
I called home seeking council. My wise Mother listened as I told tales of dark storms & the imminent rain. She searched my soul with a series of words & found the true source of my pain. She asked me what I needed & I said prayer. She reminded me that I did not need her permission to pray. Her statement made my heavy heart light. I then told her that I was not calling for permission. I simply wanted to know what to pray for. I do not want harm to beget my enemies. I am not wishing karma or vengence on those who make weapons against me. She then asked me about the size of the storm. I told her how far into the distance the darkness has stretched. She told me that storms will be storms. They will cause confusion & darkness because that’s what they do. She said they are necessary & to forgive the dark clouds. She then asked me not to be mad at the rain for falling because that’s just what rain does. Finally she said it sounds like you need God to provide you with protection. So simply pray for an umberella.
